I have a new plugin out that replaces and augments the Double Category plugin with new features. You can’t run both of them at the same time so deactivate the double category before installing this one.
The plugin allows you to display random posts by category, random posts in double cateogries, and posts by double category.

I love this plug in. It lets me do so much more with my site. I have taken it and I think that I am using almost every function somewhere on my site. If you want to see what I have done go to http://www.mycampresources.com. click around and almost everything the has posts under it, is one form of your plug in. It lets me do some very cool things with my site and opened up a lot more possibilities to controlling the categories and the posts that go with them. I would recommend this plugin for someone that wants to be different and have a different feel to their site, either it be doing stuff with a single category or using it to pull posts that belong to two categories. Way to go thanks for such a cool plug in. Keep up the good work I am excited to see where the magic goes from here.

Thanks for publishing the plugin. I’m relatively new to WP and sometimes manage to fail installing plugins! Yours was pretty straight forward though. I was wondering if there’s a way to add to it so it also outputs the conent of the post? Essentially I’m running the plugin to display one random post from one defined category. I tried WASABI’s plugin too, but there I can’t define the actual category.. so I’ve got two plugins that “almost” make it. Any tips?
Sorry for the slow response. Yeah, I have seen others needing that functionality so I will add it, but it might take a few weeks to get it added, lots of busy things to do, but that is on the to-do list.
And still haven’t updated this yet, but this works very good for what it does. When I get some time, I’ll add more features.
