It’s been a while since I talked about GLM Environment so I figured it was time for an update. The platform/environment is working out very nicely. It’s still very much in alpha at this stage because I had a few important things come up, but it’s nice to see that it has already turned into a profitable script.
It is generating income on a couple of domains of mine right now as I write this. If I had more time in my schedule to do more promotion of it, I am sure that it would produce even more income. It’s nice to see that several of my projects are seeing genuine success.
What’s next for GLM Environment? It needs some more polishing and more testing. At that stage, I will look at selling it. I promise to keep you, my readers, updated on the progress.

I am really looking into how to be the most comfortable I can when I am working at home. It seems like I am often uncomfortable after just a few hours of working. I find that I have to get up and walk around every hour or so.
I am trying to decide if I need a chair, a new desk, or even a different work area. I really want to be as comfortable as I can so that I can be as productive as I can. Lost productivity is lost income.
Maybe I will be able to change around my home office when I get around to getting a new office computer. I guess I need to keep some budget leftover for a good work environment.

On several of my websites, I get a lot of visitors who come in from search engines. Yahoo and Google send me many visitors every day who read a post and then move on to another site. It’s a shame because even if someone likes the site, there isn’t an easy way for them to keep track of your newer posts that might interest them.
Ok there are RSS feeds, but many normal web surfers, like my wife, don’t even know what an RSS feed or reader is. They just don’t use RSS feeds. What they do use is email. Everyone has an email address and some people have a half a dozen email accounts. If they get a compelling email then they will check it out.
That’s where Zookoda comes in. It’s an email marketing solution designed for bloggers. Basically, you sign up with Zookoda and then you create a newsletter that sends out your latest blog postings to those who have subscribed to your email list. By just putting a subscription form on your blog, your visitors have an easy way of keeping track of your newest posts.
If you are writing compelling content, this is an awesome way to keep people coming back time and time again. I have used email newsletters on other projects. A simple once a month newsletter detailing the newest articles would always generate a flurry of visits and a resulting increase in income.
I’d suggest looking into Zookoda if you are looking for a way to increase traffic on your site and retain search engine visitors. You’ll quickly appreciate the bump in traffic every time your newsletter goes out.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of work on transiting most of my work into the online world. I think there are some excellent opportunities out there to make 100% of my income on the web. My wife is very supportive of this and that’s something that makes this all a possibility.
I am trying to find out which areas I should concentrate on and what areas to leave behind. I suppose this is the hardest of all. I have so many different interests that it’s hard to just concentrate on just a few.
I have given some thought to putting my personal revolution site to use by becoming a personal revolution consultant. It’s all about making positive personal changes in your life.

It seems like everyday there is another great job opportunity to work from home. It used to be that work at home opportunities were a borderline scam job. Stuffing envelopes? Give me a break. I could never believe that stuffing envelopes could be a genuine work at home job.
Now there many legitimate opportunities for work that allows you to make ends meet and not go into the office. Some of them pay even more than a regular job would pay you.
1) Virtual Assistant. These are jobs that involve doing online work that others might find too tedious or not as profitable. Pay for quality virtual assistants can be very competitive.
2) Internet Marketing. This is a huge area and one where you can utilize many skills.
3) Freelancing. Whatever skills you have, you can sell your services as a freelancer.
4) Ebay Selling. It’s possible to buy stuff at garage sales very cheaply and then sell them on ebay for a profit.
5) Consultant. If you know how to do something or you have indepth knowledge about a product, service or process, then you can make money as a consultant.

There was a transformer explosion and a resulting fire over the weekend at the Planet Data Center in Houston. It’s hard to believe that these kind of freak accidents can happen, but they do. All the best laid plans can easily be put asunder with a freak accident.
In this case, no data was lost, just internet connectivity was lost until power could be restored. The question pops, though, what would have happened if data had been lost? Do you have an offsite backup? Do you have a plan ready should data be lost? How often do you make backups?
I will discussing a few ways to backup web files in the next week or so.
