Five Work At Home Opportunities

It seems like everyday there is another great job opportunity to work from home. It used to be that work at home opportunities were a borderline scam job. Stuffing envelopes? Give me a break. I could never believe that stuffing envelopes could be a genuine work at home job.

Now there many legitimate opportunities for work that allows you to make ends meet and not go into the office. Some of them pay even more than a regular job would pay you.

1) Virtual Assistant. These are jobs that involve doing online work that others might find too tedious or not as profitable. Pay for quality virtual assistants can be very competitive.

2) Internet Marketing. This is a huge area and one where you can utilize many skills.

3) Freelancing. Whatever skills you have, you can sell your services as a freelancer.

4) Ebay Selling. It’s possible to buy stuff at garage sales very cheaply and then sell them on ebay for a profit.

5) Consultant. If you know how to do something or you have indepth knowledge about a product, service or process, then you can make money as a consultant.

Hidden Treasure of Western Art

In beautiful Orange, Texas, just off Highway 90 near the Louisiana border, you can find one of the most interesting western art museums in the US. It truly is a gem of a museum that is like a hidden treasure. At the Stark Museum of Art, you’ll find Western art, American Indian art, and even rare books and manuscripts. Their collection truly capture the spirit of the region.

The Stark Museum of Art is run by the Stark Foundation. HJ Lutcher Stark was a prominent Texas businessman who worked tirelessly to promote education and cultural in the southeast corner of Texas. He was an avid art collector specializing in southwestern art that he and his wife would discover on their frequent trips to New Mexico throughout the 1940’s and 1950’s. In 1961 established the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation which later became simply the Stark Foundation in order to promote cultural education in southeastern Texas.

The Stark Foundation has worked to improve educational and cultural opportunities in Orange, Texas. They’ve restored the Shangri La Botancial Gardens, the HW Stark House, and built the Frances Ann Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts. The city of Orange has become a cultural lighthouse in southeast Texas.

Some of the impressive collections of the Stark Museum of Art are available right on its website. Anyone interested in Western or Native American art would do well to check out their online collections. It’s an enriching experience just clicking through the online collection of art. Of course, the best way to experience the Stark Museum collections is in person. It’s only a few hours away from Houston by car and it’s definitely worth the visit. The Stark Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Admission is free so you have no excuse not to see this great cultural asset.

Thinking About Herbal Natural Remedies

I have been giving a lot of thought recently about herbal natural remedies and the help they can provide for our health needs. I know they can really help us improve our health and help us get better without using intrusive medications. They can’t cure everything, but they can help improve our health and make us get better quicker and keep from getting sick in the first place. For these reasons, I have started my newest project the Herbal Natural Remedies Blog.

The blog will serve as support for an informational site I am developing now. The end result will be a place where people can go to get good information about herbal natural remedies. I think it will be a good thing for everyone.

Don’t Ride A Bike On Ice

I know there are things that I like to keep hidden from the general public knowledge for one big reason. I don’t like embarassment. I decided to share a story in my first video. It shows you what happens when you don’t pay attention to things you should pay attention to, like proper safety in inclement weather.

It also kind of reminds me about the precautions that you need to take when you enjoy Gulf oysters. They’re a great food and are very healthy as long as you use hygenic preparation methods. You can learn more about how to eat Gulf oysters safely at BeOysterAware.com. Remember, just don’t be stupid about safety like I was.

Creating The Right Business Look

If you are just starting in business, it’s important to have the right business look if you are interested in succeeding in a small business. Forget the relaxed, casual look and attitude, that may work for big businesses, but if you are going for small business success, you need to inspire confidence.

You want to invest in three things. First you need the right business apparel. Invest in a nice suit or at the minimum nice business casual wear. Make sure you buy a nice briefcase.

Next, you need some great looking business cards to give out to everyone you meet, and I mean everyone.

Lastly, you decent transportation. That might mean you take public transportation to meeting.

Trust me, there is nothing worse than leaving a business meeting where you want to impress people with your business skills and then letting them see you climb into your 1978 Ford Granada that you hope starts on the first crank over.

My Motorola C390

Motorola C390One of the best little phones I have ever had is my Motorola C390. It was originally bought in Asia and meant for outside the US use, but it was easily modified so that it could work in the US as well. It’s the phone I use on an everyday basis.

It is easy to hook up to my Asus EEE so that if I am going to a place without internet access, I can just use it to access the internet because of its built-in GPRS modem. It’s also got bluetooth and a mini-USB plug so that it’s easy to connect to just about any computer.

The color screen is big enough to play downloadable games. In fact, I have a couple of games on it that keep busy when I am sitting around bored to death. More than just games, it also has a ringtone composer and uses true tone ringtones. This makes it easy to use your favorite song as your ring tone.

I like how I don’t have to worry about charging it up all the time. The battery has a long life, I only have to charge it up every other day, unless I am making a lot of calls.

What more can I say? I love my Motorola C390
