I am often asked how to get indexed quickly into Google. I am usually pretty good at this and I actually enjoy doing it quite. This is exactly what I did for a friend a week ago on his brand new site. I followed a set procedure that works for me in about 2 days, usually. This time it smashed my 2 day record and the site indexed in just 2 hours.

Amazing, right? I’ll just say how I did it. I guess I should preface this by saying that this was for a straight html page.

The first thing I did was create an rss.xml file (RSS feed) for the single page site and put a link to it from the page.

The second thing I did was write up a post about the site, with suitable links, on a wordpress.com blog that I keep primarily for this basis. I chose the tags for the post carefully. I chose related tags that are quite active on wordpress.com and a few that were less active.

Next, I used a pinging script that I got a year ago for some website. I had it first ping the wordpress.com blog to 23 sites that accept pings. Next I pinged my new site and its RSS feed. I waited about 30 minutes and manually edited my site’s rss.xml file to show an updated post time and then resubmitted the site to the 23 sites that accept pings.

Within two hours of doing the first work, I checked in with Google and sure enough, the site was already indexed. I was shocked! The previous best time had been 2 days.

Traditional marketing has been put on its ear thanks to the internet. No longer does media spending on TV, radio and print represent the only way to get info on your company’s products or services to consumers. There are alternatives and these are just a few.

1) Make up a Youtube commercial about your company and highlight the products and services.

2) Attend conventions and trade shows as a participant and hand out business cards.

3) Make up blogs for each of your company’s products or services and keep those blogs updated.

4) Look into a simple inhouse telemarketing campaign. Do a an hour or two of cold calling about your products or services when you are doing something else.

I want you to succeed and I know anyone can succeed at business if they put forth the right effort.

There are many great ideas out there on increasing web traffic and we have talked about them here on several occasions. It seems every time I write up an article on ways to increase web traffic, I will come across more ways to get traffic.

First off, don’t waste your time on 125×125 banner type exchanges like Entrecard. Basically, you visit other people’s site and then they visit yours, but it doesn’t quite work out that way. You end up visiting more sites than the number of visitors you get. Not only that, but the visitors come in for mere seconds and do not even know what your site is about. I ran Entrecard for awhile, but it was a huge waste of time and bandwidth.

Ok, so back to the idea of increasing traffic. If you are not using the StumbleUpon toolbar than you are missing out on a great way to get traffic. If you have got some great pages, then by all means stumble them. You’ll get people visiting your site and bringing you steady traffic. You’ll also be pleasantly surprised with the quality of traffic.

Another great idea for increasing web traffic is to submit all of your decent posts to Digg. By doing this, you’ll get some search engine juice which helps in search engine, but if the article is good, you’ll get Digg traffic itself. It doesn’t hurt to submit to other sites as well.

This brings us to a great way to increase web traffic. Increase your search engine rankings. Write articles that rank well in search engines and get the link needed to get high in the search engine results. Get as many links as you can and exploit them.

Lastly, I want your suggestions. Tell me some ideas to increase the traffic to your sites that have been effective for you.

I found out a great way to sell items recently. It’s selling your friends on different opportunities. There are many opportunities out there to make money selling, but some of the products can be a bit inappropriate.

The way around inappropriate products is to sell products to your friends. You naturally want the best for your friends so when you sell to your friends, you choose a higher tier of products. They are a self checking mechanism to ensure that you are really doing the best that you can do. If you can do this, you’ll make more money and be even more fulfilled with your sales.

I have been putting together a telemarketing project over the last couple of weeks. Normally, I stay with web type marketing, but telemarketing is just not something I can easily cast away. It’s a very personal form of marketing and is results driven. You can connect immediately with potential customers and convert them into a sale or a lead.

The new project will involve melding telemarketing and internet marketing into a nice little round ball. I don’t know what kind of success I’ll see from it, but it is giving me many new business ideas, if it converts well. I think once it is going, I will know in less than a month just how profitable and successful it is.
