Don’t Ride A Bike On Ice

I know there are things that I like to keep hidden from the general public knowledge for one big reason. I don’t like embarassment. I decided to share a story in my first video. It shows you what happens when you don’t pay attention to things you should pay attention to, like proper safety in inclement weather.

It also kind of reminds me about the precautions that you need to take when you enjoy Gulf oysters. They’re a great food and are very healthy as long as you use hygenic preparation methods. You can learn more about how to eat Gulf oysters safely at BeOysterAware.com. Remember, just don’t be stupid about safety like I was.

A Very Personal Greeting Card

Green Border Photo Greeting CardsI’ve never really liked greeting cards, at least not the traditional ones. They always seem kind of sappy and believe it or not, a bit too impersonal for me. That’s why my wife and I have been sending out photo greeting cards for the last few years during the holidays. We usually try to get a nice picture of us and the kids taken and then get it printed up.

Sometimes we spend a bit too much time trying to prepare the pictures and trying to find a place that can print them up at a reasonable price. In fact, in years past, that’s the been the most difficult part of making photo greeting cards. Lately, I have been looking on the net for places that print up our photo greeting cards and that’s how I came across CardsDirect.

CardsDirect has a nice selection of different photo greeting cards. This means that my wife and I can find the style that best fits our family. For me, I like the Green Border Christmas Cards. You can see them pictured on the left. They’ve got a nice simplistic style that makes the picture the focus of the card. It’s just what I want in a photo greeting card.

I think I know where we’ll be buying photo greeting cards for the holidays. I wonder if it’s too early to think about Christmas???

Doing Your Own Thing

Doing your own thing and going your own way can be a big trip. Face it, it can be a lot of fun hen you blaze your own trails and make your own path. Lately I have been trying to do more of it in the way of business and technology. Unfortunately, I have found that blazing new trails can be a lot of work.

Take for example, web hosting. I have started to do hosting of my own sites myself. This means that I am responsible for everything, including maintaining the server, securing the server and doing backups. It means that I need to do backups on a regular basis in order to keep things running smoothly. It’s a lot of work, but it is something I need to do.

Another example is writing plugins. Since I try to come up with something new and interesting, it means that sometimes I am coming up with entirely new ways of programming. I can’t really rely on anyone else to check and see if I am doing it right. It means I spend a lot more time doing trial and error to make sure I get things right.

That’s ok. I know both of these are improving my skills and making me more self reliant, and that’s something very good.

I’ve added my IM presence

I do a lot of article writing for webmasters and internet marketers. Unfortunately, for some reason, communication problems have been welling up recently. I guess it goes to show that you shouldn’t rely on forum pms as your only means of communication. I decide to make get some accounts together for the major IM services and then add my status indicators to the sidebar. In my sidebar I have my Skype, my AIM and my Yahoo. If you need to contact me, you know how to.

Who am I?

In many ways, this is a blog that has developed. It originally began as a place for me to talk about some politics then I began adding posts of information that I thought was valuable such as how to’s and other things that I didn’t want to have to keep retyping or posting on forums. That was the shape of things for many months. In the last three months, things have continued to evolve into the blog it is.
