Make a change, make a change today. Remember, the revolution starts now. It’s the time to make a change. Don’t wait until tomorrow. It’s our chance to seize things today and not wait. I know it is much easier to wallow away you existence fed on the bread and circuses that the media and the government feed you.

Trillanes on Video
November 29th, 2007 — Philippines, Politics
Here is a video of Antonio Trillanes and the statement he made at the Manila Peninsula Hotel. While he has been captured, I don’t think the Philippines has seen the last of him and this could be the first of many salvos against the current fake president. I guess we will pay close attention to the news in the coming days.

Gun Control
November 29th, 2007 — Humor, Politics
Gun Control is a decisive issue, but I doubt it will really be much of an issue in the next election. None of the candidates are really taking a public stand on issue, either for or against gun control. In other words, it looks like a non-issue this election season. But that doesn’t mean we can’t find a bit of humor in it all. This is a funny video where an NRA member asks a question to the candidates about gun control.

Basket Case
November 28th, 2007 — Editorials, Philippines, Politics
The Philippines continues to be a basket case. With high taxes on personal income and a domestic economy that has become reliant on Philippine workers abroad, it is not surprising its status. Harder to Live Paycheck to Paycheck
October 20th, 2007 — Economics and Business, Politics
It’s getting harder to live paycheck to paycheck. No duh, everyone knows that’s getting harder. From increasing prices and stagnant wages for the working class, it’s no surprise that things are getting more difficult, but to dwell on this avoids the real problems. The real problem that it’s getting harder to live paycheck to paycheck, the real problem is that people have forced themselves into this kind of problem.
It’s really a lifestyle choice. If you choose to buy a home that you can not comfortably afford, if you choose to buy a car that you can not comfortably afford, if you take on debt that is too difficult to afford, you are creating the problem. Increasing prices and stagnant wages just exacerbate the situation, but are not the root cause of it.
I’m sure many of those in dire straits have taken out high interest payday loans or have taken out cash advances with fees that are crippling their budget. As they rush to deal with the problem, they are avoiding the most simplest solution to their problem. What’s that? Cut back on expenses. Can’t afford gas for the car? Take the bus! Turn off the lights you aren’t using, turn back the thermostat, cut your power bills, cook at home every meal and make sure that they are healthy cheap meals.
The goal is to take charge of your finances and get your finances on the right track. Will it solve all of your money problems? Maybe yes, maybe no, but it’s a lot better than sitting back and whining about your lack of money.
