One of the best ways to get ahead is by getting training. I mention that time and time again, and Cisco certification is one of the best training courses to take. Cisco routers are everywhere and they are lifeblood of the internet, there is no doubt about that. It naturally holds that certification on these routers is a great career training path.
I have talked about Cisco certification in the past and my own foray into the training. I think my baseline self study is just about done now. I think I am now ready to take a certification course and there is no doubt that I will benefit from it. If I choose to work for an employer, my training will get me a higher wage. If I choose to work as a consultant, then I am well prepared to see success in that field as well.
I guess that is the beauty of this. Cisco training can open doors that you never thought would exist and it will pay you back in the form of higher wages and better working conditions. I know that I will enjoy success thanks to the training while the certification will prove to employers around the world that I am qualified and knowledgeable in Cisco hardware.
I look forward to reporting back on my progress as I begin the actual training and further along as I actually take a Cisco certification exam. I’ll also keep you all abreast of my job search after I pass the certification exam. I am really looking forward to this new opportunity.

No other rank is talked about more than Page Rank. Everything from advertising rates to web site bragging rights are based on a site’s page rank. It’s not surprising that many people value a website solely based on its page rank.
Page Rank is that ubiquitous ranking that Google gives to every web page in their index. It’s not based on the popularity of a page or even the quality of a page. No, it’s based on the number and quality of links pointing to the page. More than that, the actual page rank of a page is never divulged. Instead a toolbar Page Rank is published for each page every 3 to 4 months. Instead of being a completely algorithmic way of ranking sites, Google tweaks the results to fit their own business needs, opinions and prejudices. As a pure ranking system, it is dubious at best.
Research has shown time and time again that toolbar Page Rank has nothing to do with rankings in the search engine results page and nothing to with search engine traffic. With or without a toolbar page rank, you will pass link quality onto other sites and help other sites rank well in the search engine results.
Don’t get me wrong, I think there is some value to Page Rank. You can get better offers when someone wishes to have a link from your page to their page. Advertisers that misconstrue Page Rank with popularity will also pay more for an ad based on your site’s Page Rank.
If you notice, one of the only values of page rank is that having page rank will give you more advertising opportunities. It’s simple really, advertisers consider a link to a site with a higher page rank to be more valuable.
But herein lies the big problem. If you sell a link that is more valuable because of your page rank, Google will take away your page rank. In other words, if you sell a link without a nofollow tag on your site, Google will strip away your page rank. Let’s put it in a little different terms. If you sell your page rank, ie the only way to access the value of having page rank, Google will take it away.
I had an epiphany about 8 months ago. I realized that Page Rank has no value unless it is being used and once you start using it, it will go away. I decided that I could make a choice. I could let Page Rank sit on the shelf giving me no value or I could use it now and access the value in it. I chose to access it now and I have never regretted it. The traffic on my sites have increased and I had immediate access to the Page Rank value I had built up.

I remember the first time I bought a family camcorder. It was a Sony. We had it for two years before we replaced it with a JVC camcorder. Now it is time for us to get a new camcorder and I have been doing a lot of looking around trying to find the best camcorder for our budget and needs. Having a good camcorder means that it’s easy to record our family’s greatest moments and be able to relive them later. I guess that’s why our choice of camcorder is so important. Any ideas?

I recently bought a new monitor for a computer I just built. On my other computer, I have been using a Viewsonic monitor with good results and better quality than the previous monitor. I guess that’s why I decided to go with a viewsonic monitor for the new computer. Quality is definitely not an issue because the color are crisp and the monitors last for years. So far so good on my new Viewsonic monitor. I am definitely happy with it.

In my house, the cell phone signal has weak spots. I think that’s like many homes in America these days. We are all using our cellphones in our homes, but the cell phone companies never imagined how much we would use them at home when they were erecting cell phone towers. This leads to dead spots in many home. There is a solution to that. It’s called a cell phone repeater. It works by amplifying the signal and so that cell phones can be used in any room of the house. Sounds cool, right?
