Sometimes I wonder why I put up with the things I do. Years ago, I would just put up with things and never really questioned the why, then I started not putting up with anything. Over the last year or so, I have reverted somewhat back to the way I was before. I am just putting up with stupidity way too much. Now I wonder why I am putting up with it, when I know I can put my foot down and end the insanity.
Maybe it’s because I realized that the voice of one person means very little and that I can not change a single thing, except the lives of me and my family. Everything else is out of my jurisdiction.

I remember when I was back in El Paso, I got exposed to Harley motorcycles. I had several friends who rode regularly and I even got a chance to take the helm a couple of times. It was awesome. One of my friends had several motorcycles and actually did a lot of Harley restorations. He would find great Harley parts and then bring a bike back to life so he could enjoy the bike the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
It’s been awhile since I was back in El Paso, but I sure do miss it. I miss the weather, the music, the food and my friends. Two turns and I could be there…….I5 to I10…..

One of the things I hate the most is getting calls from people I don’t know. I especially hate it when I get a message to call so and so back at some number given to me. When it’s a business calling me, I want to know who it is that is calling me so I know whether or not it’s worth my time to actually return the call.
In order to trace a phone number before, I would just put the number into Google. It was usually hit or miss if I could find anything about the number. I would get a little irritated because with all of our advancement in information technology, it should be easy to get information on a phone number, right? Well, now it is easy.
I discovered PhoneInfoTracer.com. It’s awesome, you just visit them and put the phone number into the box and do the reverse number lookup search. It quickly gives you a whole box of details about the number. It’s definitely cool and it’s definitely a site I have bookmarked for the next time someone calls me and just gives me their number.

There is no time like the present to learn a new skill. Learning a new skill is a great way to open new doors and make yourself recession proof. By having a new skill, you’ll be consider more employable and more of an asset to your company.
When you learn a new skill, you also open up new avenues for consulting work. We’ve talked before about working as a consultant as a way to increase your income and become recession proof. Learning new skills in fast growing areas means that you can be a consultant in areas that have a huge need of consultants.
I will expand on this in further postings over the next few days.

Lately I have been talking quite a bit about training. You can take training courses that cover a broad level of topics. These training courses will help you get a better job and can be a huge help when making the career adjustment that you face when coming back home from a stint abroad. Many of the training ideas I have suggested have been courses in educational institutions, but that doesn’t have to be the case.
You can train yourself. It’s really simple. Find an area that you are interested in and start studying it. Read all the books you can find, find information online, interact with professionals in the field, and try to get hands on experience. It doesn’t take long before you become proficient in the area and that proficiency can open doors in the job market.
Granted this won’t work for all jobs, but it will work for some and can be worth a try if you don’t have access to more formal educational opportunities.
