Dirt Cheap Cruises

I have never really been into cruises as either a form of vacationing or as a form of travel. For me, it’s trips for the elderly. Maybe that’s because the only person I know who has taken a cruise was my grandfather. Now, my atittude is changing. Either it’s because I’m getting old or I am starting to recognize the value in cruises.

For example, cruises are getting very cheap in the current economic environment. I was reading in the newspaper that Carnival Cruises has a 4 night cruise for less than $150. It’s hard to imagine any vacation as cheap as that, especially since it includes meals. That’s enough to change me into a cruise lover.

Save Some Money On Travel

When my family goes on vacation, we chose very carefully the type of accommodation that we stay in. If we are just going for a day or two, we usually opt for a hotel, but if we are staying longer than just a few days, we start looking at vacation rentals. They give all the comforts of home and that’s important when you are traveling with the family. In fact, the total cost of travel is less with a vacation rental than it is with a hotel.

We are still learning more about vacation travel, but vacation rentals is one idea that has saved us money time and again. With the economy the way it is, we can enjoy a vacation and still keep expenses down.

Upcoming Tropical Vacation

I am getting ready to make a long extended vacation this coming winter to a tropical location. I hadn’t really planned this, but rather the opportunity has fell into my lap. It’s a chance to enjoy some time in the sun and really get down to the business of enjoying some well deserved time off.

We have been doing quite a bit of shopping lately trying to get ready for this vacation. For me, it means that me and my wife both need a new swimsuit so we have been shopping for them lately. Time in the water is an integral part of any beach vacation.

Now, I just need to figure out the other things we will be doing on our vacation.

Vacation Escape From It All

It seems like all I can do these days is think about vacationing. Maybe it is because of the weather lately or maybe it is because of the economic malaise affecting many people. I have been thinking vacationing in Las Vegas, southern California and even Orlando. I know my kids would just love to experience Disney vacations.

I think they could really get into the whole idea of going on the rides and experiencing the fun that I was able to have when I was growing up. In fact, I think reliving some great times of my own childhood might take my mind off of the economic problems that are affecting the country and people I know at this stage.

Maybe everyone needs to think about taking a vacation escape from it all.

Vegas Is Changing

Several months ago, I had a chance to make it through Las Vegas. I didn’t have enough time to make a vacation out of it, but I did have a day in Vegas to check out the city that I used to live in. Every time I make it through Las Vegas I am amazed at how much new construction growth there is. It seems like there are new las vegas hotels, new shopping centers, and even entire new housing developments that have sprung since my last visit.

When I make our Las Vegas vacation later this fall, I think I will spend a day in a rental car just checking out all of the old parts of Vegas and chronicling the changes. I know that today, it is hardly recognizable from when I first hit Vegas back in 1986.
