Well, I like to make up sites that are very simple, but still can benefit from the power of dynamically generated content. I have the first version in testing right now. It still has a ways to go and some more features to add. Look for a first release next week.
The tentative name of it is GLM Environment. What exactly does it do? It’s a very simple lightweight content system that uses flat files.
The changes I need to make for full alpha status:
1) Separate the backend from the templates so that it’s easier to create different themes and templates.
2) Automatically keep track of the pages created in the system for display in the side bar.
3) Add security to the inputting of data

I am often asked what my favorite tools for working on my websites are. People really want to know just how I do some of the work I do. I don’t blame them. It’s easier to start on a known path than it is to completely start from scratch.
That said, here are my five favorite tools for working on the web.
1) Izea Real Rank
2) Gedit
3) WordPress
4) My Ping Script
5) Wikipedia
In a future post, I will elaborate on ways to use each one.

I just love trying to find new web hosting. It’s a tough thing and it’s the thing I loathe the most to do. It seems like I have to do way too much work to find a good host and even after I have found what looks like a good host, I constantly have second thought if I chose the right web host.
It’s not unrealistic fear. The big hosting companies always have problems and their customer service usually sucks. The small companies are always in danger of going out of business. This makes it all very difficult at best.
Now you see why I hate looking for new web hosting?

It was a sad day when the TEFLWatch Forums, that for 2 years served as a service to teachers in need, closed. Many teachers were left without a place to discuss their negative experiences or get good advice about teaching abroad. It was with a lot of trepidation that they were closed down and the fact they closed down is testament to how evil a few trolls can be.
I know about it because I was an admin on TEFLWatch.
Thankfully, that has changed. A new team has come forward to run a new teachers site called TEFL School Reviews. You can visit their site to rate schools and you can visit their TEFL School Reviews forum to leave feedback on schools and issues facing teachers.

As always, I am brainstorming new business ideas. I sure wish I was better at implementation than I am at thinking up ideas. My newest idea is a school social networking site. This is an idea that first hit me when I first discovered BuddyPress.
BuddyPress is a set of tools that allow you to turn a WordPress MU install into a social networking site, combined with the BBPress forums and you end up with a full featured social networking site that is perfect for schools. I am hoping to have my first implementation up and going in a few weeks.
