We had a lot of fun putting in a garden this year. We have been pretty successful with the food that we’ve grown and the fun that we’ve had taking care of it with the kids. It’s been a learning experience for us and it’s allowed us to save money on our food bill. As we finish putting up a lot of food over the next couple of weeks, we can’t help but think about our garden next year. There are so many improvements we are looking at, including putting in some garden decor to make things look even better. I think it’s all about making the garden a focal point of family life.

Insurance: Take Care of Your Financial Life
September 2nd, 2008 — Family, Home
On another site that I own, I am putting together a personal revolution consultancy. It’s all about helping people make positive changes in their lives, whether on a financial, personal, health, or family basis. It’s important for people to see a positive change in their lives. Getting straightened financially is important and if you have a family, it starts with getting life insurance. That’s why I am encouraging people to get a term life insurance quote. Once you have a quote, you can make the room in your budget to ensure that you have an adequate amount of insurance.
Developing New Tech Site
September 2nd, 2008 — Business On The Web, Personal Projects, Technology
In previous posts, I mentioned that I’d like to start up a blog directly related to tech and consisting only of tech topics. I thought it might be a good way to get some of my tech writing out there and talk about more of the things I love. I drug my feet over the last few months trying to come up with a name for the blog while clearing time in my schedule to devote to it. To this end, I came up with TechGringo. I still need to add the content, but it’s never too early to get the framework into place. I hope you all enjoy it.
Save Money On Merchant Fees
August 29th, 2008 — Business On The Web, Economics and Business
It’s hard these days to have a business without having a way to accept credit cards. I am happy to have a small, but growing business, but I have been kind of flabbergasted recently about the high cost of processing credit card payments. I am currently using payment systems that cost me more money than I like to pay and that’s why I am looking for a merchant account for my credit card processing needs. From what I have been able to find, a merchant account will result in much lower credit card processing fees and that means more money in my pocket.
One solution I have found is OnlineCheck.com. They are a merchant services company with a free merchant account that offers a low transaction rate. The low transaction rate means more money in my pocket. With how tight business conditions can be these days, every little savings helps.
Congratulations Gov Sarah Palin!
August 28th, 2008 — Politics
I don’t like to get into politics too much, but this is too good to resist. I would like to be the first in the blogosphere to congratule Sarah Palin on being the VP pick to run alongside John McCain. I am certain that Vice President Sarah Palin will prove to be very capable in her new position. I want to thank the commenters on PalinForVp for sharing information that makes it very apparent that she is the pick. It looks a jet picked her up in Anchorage and took there.
Now I guess that it’s time to break out the party favors and celebrate. This was brilliant move by our future President John McCain!
Here’s another thread of great info:
