Fight the Power

If you are reading this, you want to know more about me and this site. First off, my name is Louis. I am 36 years old and I am from Oregon in the US. After spending 11 years outside the US as a teacher and consultant, I am back in the US permanently.

During my time abroad, I saw many interesting and wonderful things. I also saw many things that hurt the inner part of my heart. It’s why I started this blog. It’s my chance to put together the funding needed to make important projects a reality. It is my firm belief that it is wrong to let feed only the souls of those in need. People need their temporal needs met as well.

I feel uncomfortable talking about my projects, because I prefer to spend my time making these projects a success in the areas of basic education, basic literacy, and job training. If you would like to know more, email me. You can find my email on the about page of this site.

One very public project that I took on was the TEFLWatch project. The goal of this project was simple, to help teachers get the information they need about teaching abroad.

Note: As of April 2008, I have turned it over to new project leaders. Why? Commercial interests do not appreciate free speech and will do anything they can to eliminate that free speech, even to the point of publicly making lies behind anonymous user names. I am proud of TEFLWatch’s accomplishments under my leadership. We were written about in international media outlets as diverse as the International Herald Tribune, GMA News, Sun Star, and the Rocky Mountain News, as well as many smaller news outlets.

Still want to know more, email me. I value my privacy, but I will happily do everything I can to help other people.
