It’s Time To Move Ahead To LCD

Since selling all of my computers except my laptops when I made my latest move, I have been in the market for a new computer. I have to admit that I was a bit dated getting along well with CRT monitors, but I finally decided that with my new purchase I would go for an lcd monitor. I truly like I am now in 2009, finally. I am surprised at how affordable they have become.

Now I just need to decide if I want to go with a factory made computer or a system that I put together myself, hmm. choices.

I always build myself. This allows me to choose exactly what I want in my box. If I go quality cost is about the same as I would pay for a branded box but I would know exactly what is in it.

I think a CRT, even though they are more bulky and use more electricity, provides a better quality picture and richer colors such as true black (instead of gray like LCD). CRTs will last for years too. For graphics editing, CRTs are still the choice for professionals, but for most people, especially those who put convenience first, LCDs would be the way to go.

I’ll wait a few years to see how LCD technology improves before I jump on the bandwagon.
