Latex in Windows

If you are serious about making your writing stand out, then you need to look at a real typesetting solution. A word processor can really only go so far. It is mixes together both the text and design. When I am doing professional writing, the content is what matters so I usually just use a simple text editor. It checks my spelling and it does a word count and this part of the idea behind a Latex environment. Guess what? Latex is open source and it will always be free.

Latex is a powerful system that separates the writing from the design. This allow a designer to focus on the design and a writer to focus on the words. Word processors demand us to ake those decisions together, not so with Latex. The Windows version of Latex is Protext. I suggest downloading and be prepared for a tutorial here on how to use it.
