Like rats? Well, a new rat has been discovered in the jungles of Indonesia. This rat is 5 times the size of a typical city rat. They make further comment that it wasn’t afraid of humans and it came right up to the researcher’s camp. That’s good to know, but I remember seeing bigger rats than that on my trips in Thailand. Just go by a market at night and see ones almost the size of cats. Argh!
They also discovered the smallest possum. I am still trying to figure what the big difference is, just by looking, between a giant rat and small possum.
“The giant rat is about five times the size of a typical city rat,” said Kristofer Helgen, a scientist with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. “With no fear of humans, it apparently came into the camp several times during the trip.”
