Pinging Yahoo! Search

I just came across this little url that will ping Yahoo and let Yahoo know that your site has changed. It’s a great way to let them know to come back and visit your site, especially if you haven’t updated in a while. You can either ping a whole site or just a specific page.

If I was pinging a specific page, maybe the best to ping would be your sitemap pages. Keep Yahoo visiting those and keep them delving deep into your site.

Here’s the url:

Which brings up another SEO tip, get backlinks to your sitemap. You do have a sitemap, right? If you can put the spiders into your sitemap, they have a better chance of picking up your older posts and keeping them relevant.
