Running Ahead

In times past, many times, army, caravans, wagon trains and other groups that were traveling would use scouts to run ahead of the group to see what was in front of them. They did this for many reasons, maybe to make sure they were on the right path or maybe to keep themselves from falling into danger. Whatever the reason, it was very effective to run ahead of the pack and report back what you saw.

In business, this can be an important way to make money. When trying out new products, services or ideas, you might send a small test out to gauge reaction or just test the market. In small business, you have a chance to do the same thing. It may be more expensive and may seem difficult, but if you can do it, you can greatly increase your profits and success.
