North Dakota Student In New York

It’s been awhile since I visited New York. I actually think I’ve talked about my New York tours before, but I don’t think I told you about my fun trip in New York. It was actually kind of hilarious.

I didn’t know New York that well at the time, but I was in college, I was young, and most of all, I was naive. I was there in New York City with my 1986 Ford Escort and I was trying to find my way around town. I ended up in a particularly rough part of the city and I had to ask for directions from the homies on the block. It must have been funny seeing a North Dakota university student lost in New York City.

I eventually found a hotel and decided to check in. Imagine how naive I was when they asked me how many hours i wanted to rent it for. I was like, well, I don’t know how much sleep I need. Maybe 8 hours? The clerk looked at me very strangely. I don’t know if they had ever seen a naive North Dakota university student before.

The next day, I hit as many of the tourist spots as I could. I even took a ride out to the Statue of Liberty. I also had a chance to see the World Trade Centers, Wall Street and Times Square. After hearing about the Top of the Rock, I sure wish it would have been open when I was there, but I still had a great time.

When I think about the fun I had there, I wish I could go back and visit New York once again. This time I would get the help of Trusted Tours and Attractions and their online travel guides. There’s a lot of information available. Speaking of them, if you sign up for their travel enewsletter, you have a chance to win a $150 Magellan’s gift certificate. Sounds like a good deal.

Visiting New York City

I love talking about my vacation experiences. They are always a lot of fun to share and I get a lot of feedback in my email from friends and family about them. I think I have been more places than many other people so I have a unique perspective of a place, especially a city like New York City.

I love visiting New York. I have been able to visit New York on several occasions. I remember on my first trip to New York City, I didn’t know about any things to do in New York, but I didn’t let that daunt me. I am not usually one who seeks out city tours when I travel, but that trip was an exception. I looked into New York City tours and took a tour of Broadway and other sites.

I was just really amazed about the things I was able to see in New York. I even made a trip on the Staten Island Ferry and alsomade a trip to Ellis Island. It was great seeing all of the names and just feeling the hopes and dreams of millions of people sorrounding me. I couldn’t help but be proud to be an American. That pride grew when I went to se the Statue of Liberty. She truly is a beautiful lady.

I’d like to go back to visit New York City again, this time with my family. I want my kids to experience the same feelings I did. I will definitely check out Trusted Tours & Attractions and their online travel guides, just like I did when I wanted to know about things to do in Las Vegas. They have got great discounted tickets. You can even have a chance to win a GPS from them (until June 30th, 2008) just for signing up for their travel newsletter.

Me and The Colombian Adventure in Boston

I remember back when I made my first trip to Boston back in 1992. It was a trip made on a lark. My plans for a trip to Maine had fallen through and I had a roundtrip ticket from Fargo to Boston and a week off from work and I didn’t want to waste either of them. It proved to be a very wild vacation.

I arrived at Logan Airport late at night. I had no idea where to go, but I did have the phone number of a friend of a friend and she told me to call her when I got in so I did. I gave her a call and she told me to meet up with her at a T station in some far flung suburb. I was riding the T late at night and had no idea where I was going or what I was doing. I was kind of taking a series of sightseeing tours under Boston.

Finally, I met this girl from Colombia who only spoke Spanish. Lucky for me that I speak Spanish. She started directing me around but then she said she was going to a club so I said, why not. I had no idea about things to do in Boston and I really didn’t want to meet up with the friend of a friend when I had a beautiful Colombian guide. Off to the club we went.

I ended up spending a week getting to know a lot of things about Colombia, Latin America, and Boston. It was a great trip and a total adventure, but now that I am married, I prefer to the kind of tours that Trusted Tours and Attractions provides. They’ll help you find things to do in New York City and many other cities.
