Summer vacations are always a great thrill and provide a needed break from the hustle, bustle and stress of daily life. It’s a chance to spend time with friends or family in a carefree environment. When I think of summer vacations, I remember one particular trip to San Francisco that was a real treat.
There are many things to do in San Francisco and the summertime is the best time to visit it. The weather is cool and it feels like a natural air conditioner. You never get too hot going from tourist place to tourist place.
It was so awesome to see the many great places to see there are in San Francisco, such as Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz Island. I personally loved the museums and Chinatown. A short drive south is Silicon Valley and I made the side trip. It was a blast seeing the cradle of the Digital World.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been there but I am hoping we can make it down there this summer. We still got a month. If we do, we will check out Trusted Tours & Attractions. They have got great tours and can help with things as diverse as New York City tours or things to do in Las Vegas.
Speaking of Trusted Tours & Attractions. They are currently running awesome promotion where if you sign up for their travel newsletter, you can have a chance to win a $150 gift card for Itunes. I remember back when I made my first trip to Boston back in 1992. It was a trip made on a lark. My plans for a trip to Maine had fallen through and I had a roundtrip ticket from Fargo to Boston and a week off from work and I didn’t want to waste either of them. It proved to be a very wild vacation.
I arrived at Logan Airport late at night. I had no idea where to go, but I did have the phone number of a friend of a friend and she told me to call her when I got in so I did. I gave her a call and she told me to meet up with her at a T station in some far flung suburb. I was riding the T late at night and had no idea where I was going or what I was doing. I was kind of taking a series of sightseeing tours under Boston.
Finally, I met this girl from Colombia who only spoke Spanish. Lucky for me that I speak Spanish. She started directing me around but then she said she was going to a club so I said, why not. I had no idea about things to do in Boston and I really didn’t want to meet up with the friend of a friend when I had a beautiful Colombian guide. Off to the club we went.
I ended up spending a week getting to know a lot of things about Colombia, Latin America, and Boston. It was a great trip and a total adventure, but now that I am married, I prefer to the kind of tours that Trusted Tours and Attractions provides. They’ll help you find things to do in New York City and many other cities.

“Put on my blue suede show and I boarded a plane, touched down in the land of the Delta blues in the middle of the pouring rain.” Walking in Memphis was a song I just loved to listen to on the radio. Back when I had the freedom and careless ways of a single guy, I decided to travel the US and see some places that I heard mentioned in songs. Memphis was on the the list because I just loved the song and I decided to go to Memphis and take a few Memphis city tours.
I went to the Sun Studios where Elvis first started recording along with other greats like Carl Perkins. After that I went to visit Graceland. Graceland is everything you imagine and more. It was awesome. I also made it to Al Green’s Full Gospel Tabernacle Church for a sermon by one of the most famous singing pastors. The church experience was rocking and full of soul. On Monday morning, I got to wander around downtown Memphis just looking around at everything around me. Walking down Beale Street, it truly felt like I was walking through a dream, 10 feet over the street. It was awesome.
It took a lot of work doing the tours on my own and I really don’t suggest it. It makes sense to use Trusted Tours & Attractions. They have several different sightseeing tours in Memphis and around the US. Right now they are running a promotion that when you sign up for their newsletter, you can win a handheld GPS. Get great information on tours and get a chance to win a handheld GPS, now that’s an great offer.
