Ah, the big news is WordPress 2.3. It’s the newest version of WordPress. The WordPress is the engine that runs this and thousands(maybe millions) of other sites on the net and there’s a new version out. Normally, I try to manage a quick upgrade on all of my sites using a shell script I have.
That’s usually. This time, I don’t know if I’ll be upgrading. See not all of the plugins for WordPress can work with the new WordPress 2.3. Some plugins are just plain broken while others require an upgrade to a new plugin version that works on 2.3 but breaks on 2.2.
I’ve got several sites running WordPress. Some of mine don’t use any special plugins that won’t work under 2.3. In fact even Category Magic is 2.3 compatible(testing it right now on a test site before uploading the 2.3 compatible version), but other great plugins like Wp-Stats and Wp-Ratings are not yet 2.3 compatible and I’m using these plugins on another site.
I have a hard enough time keeping my sites straight, I don’t need or want an extra headache of keeping track of multiple versions of plugins and multiple versions of WordPress. I think I’ll wait.
